Ophelia - Ophélie

J’ai cousu une robe en éponges naturelles et je me trempe dans l’eau : j’ai trouvé un point d’eau à la forêt de Soignes que l’on désigne, en français, par « L’étang des enfants noyés » ou « kinderen Verdroncken » en néerlandais. Le feuillage étant des mêmes couleurs que les éponges, le résultat fait écho à la peinture de Millais sur le personnage énigmatique d’Ophélie de Shakespeare...

I sewed a dress made of natural sponge and I soaked in water: I found a water source to Zoniënwoud which is designated in French by "The lake of drowned children" or "kinderen Verdroncken" in Dutch. The foliage is the same colors as the sponges, the result echoes the painting by Millais of the enigmatic character of Ophelia in Shakespeare ...
